Freaky Car Crashes

Getting behind the wheel of a car is truly hazardous to your health. If it isn’t the heart-attack inducing road rage, it’s the simpering pop music. It’s little wonder then that so many people find themselves in a compromising position. Scraped bumpers and dented fenders are all well and good, but if you’re going to claim on your insurance, you might as well do it properly. If you need some tips on how to crash with style, take a few lessons from these bad boys and girls. You may need to fasten your seatbelt.

1. It’s Snow Joke
Now we all know to take extra care when driving in snow, but I have no idea how ending up parked ‘nose up’ is physically possible without a ramp or crane. I bet this motorist will pack his snow socks before hitting the road next time.

2. Hole in One
This is the car crash equivalent of a hole in one. This motorist wouldn’t have been able to line this up again if he tried. I think that cop might be taking a picture! Classic…

3. Science Defying Parking
How on earth? Now there’s missing the parking spot and then there’s this. He takes inconsiderate parking to a whole new level. How is the car parked next to them completely unharmed? How fast was he driving? Where can I get a pimping car like that? This picture raises more questions than it answers.

4. Surprisse!!
Don’t you love it when restaurants live up to their names? I pretty sure the Fat Duck got one heck of a surprise when this huge white van came barrelling through the front window. On it’s roof. Perhaps he just really, really needed a takeout?

5. Urban Dominoes
You know how it is, you’re playing dominos and you just want that extra bit of oomph. What can you do to ramp up the stakes? Play with cars of course, the obvious choice! Even the firemen look confused. Or maybe they’re trying to decide their next move.

6. That Sinking Feeling
Do you ever get that sinking feeling? Unlike the rest of these crazy crashes this one happened in our very own UK. After hearing a loud crack this motorist found herself in a very large hole on her way to work. This takes a nightmare commute to the next level. And I think the train’s bad!

7. Easy Access
Well that’s one way to ruin a Sunday dinner with the family. Is it possible that this motorist was so at one with his car he simply forgot he needed to get out to walk through the front door? Entirely understandable I think.

8. Just Chillin’
Although this fallen-down truck is nothing unusual – “lorries topple over all the time”, I hear you cry – there is something that caught my eye about this little snap. There is someone still chilling in the cabin. Is it a ghost? Or the trucker in question just hanging out? Perhaps he doesn’t fancy clambering out in the rain, or maybe he’d rather finish his fag before dealing with the fallout. Either way, I’m confused.

9. Seriously… WTF?!
Wha? How the…? There are so many things wrong with this picture. It looks like he’s fallen from the sky. Or perhaps treated the housing in the background like an enormous ramp jump. The joyful combination of lamppost and barrier keeping the car in place is beautifully serendipitous. Bravo good sir, bravo indeed.
